The Inaugural Edition — Out Now.

The Better Argument is a community of thinkers as much as it is a print magazine.

Issue 1

Better Argument Magazine

Inaugural Edition

Issue 1 asks what it means to build, use, and be shaped by machines. Contributors draw on Aristotle and Arendt, Plato and Lyotard, ancient rhetoric and evolutionary biology, to examine surveillance and the algorithmic self, AI and the ethics of writing, the collapse of shared public space, and the myth of Talos — the bronze giant who may be the oldest story we have about a guardian technology that fails the very people it was built to protect.

The magazine is edited for readers who want their thinking about technology to be as rigorous as the technology itself: skeptical of both breathless boosterism and reflexive doomerism, and committed to arguments that hold up under real scrutiny.

✓Essays built to be re-read: dense enough to reward a second pass, clear enough not to need one
